Religious practices play an important role in the Muslim community. In Vietnam, the majority of Muslims are Cham people. They generally live in villages. Each Muslim village (hamlet) usually has a mosque with its own name. Depending on the population of the village, there are one or two more small mosques for the daily worship of believers. Belief in Allah is the faith ofthe Muslims. For Islam, the faith is associated with practices. Muslims practice the five main pillars of faith such as a profession of faith, offering prayers, fasting Ramadan, almsgiving, and pilgrimage. On the basis of survey data conducted in 2019 and 2020 for the research on “Islamic community in Vietnam today: Current situation, changing trends and policy implications”, the article focuses on the practices of the five pillars of faith among Muslims in Vietnam today.
