Before 2016, ANSYS software only has a Drucker - Prager model to analyse soil behaviour. After that, the beginning of the version 17.0, ANSYS has supplemented other soil models, that include a Mohr - Coulomb model. Those open innovative approaches for this software. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the application of ANSYS v18.0 software to study the behaviour of embankment reinforced soil-cement columns. In this paper, 2D finite element models (FEM) are carried out. The results show that ANSYS, combined with a Mohr - Coulomb model, can be used to observe load distributions on the head of soil - cement columns reinforcing soft ground under the embankment.
