Vietnam is a coastal country, located on the banks of the East Sea with a large space: over 1 million km2 in area, over 3,260 km in length, 198,000 km of rivers which makes it favorable for the development of navigation and seaport system. The marihe economy plays an important role in the growth of the national economy in general and the marine economy in particular. Along with the international economic integration and the increase in imports and exports, the volume of goods transported via inland waterways has increased sharply with the current volume of about 90,000 teus/month and will reach 120,000 teus/month by 2030. Despite the convenience of container shipping barge shipping, the risks from unstable container handling need to be addressed; a series of accidents related to inland waterway container shipping barges caused by unstable container loading and unloading have caused a lot of damage to goods, vehicles and people. It is urgent to develop a software to accurately calculate the parameters on the status and posture of inland waterway container shipping barges to assist the inspection of the stability of the barge and change/adjust loading and unloading plans to satisfy stability requirements. Based on the results of theoretical research assessing the effects of barge parameters and container positions on the stability of the barge, the software will recommend a reasonable container loading and unloading scheme to enhance the stability of inland waterway container shipping barges."
