Handwashing liquid is the primary defense against microbial diseases including COVID-19. Producing environmental-friendly ones, which means less impact on the ecosystem, is much appreciated. This study investigated the effect of ingredients on the stability of handwashing liquid containing aloe vera gel to provide a scientific basis for the production of environmental-friendly ones. The results show that gel extracted directly from aloe vera leaves was not suitable to ensure the stability of handwashingliquid. Eco-friendly surfactant cocamidopropyl betaine had almost no effect on the stability of handwashing liquid with commercial aloe vera gel of up to 35% in 2 hours but recognizable effect after 48 hours. The supplemented thickener, carbomer, at a rate of up to 0.5% did not affect the stability of the handwashing liquid when CAPB content was less than 5%
