The application of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technology that are considered as modern teaching technologies in university education has been being rapidly developed. The learners are able to interact with device’s parts in a virtual environment to explore, deeply understand device’s functions and operate instrument easily. The VR/AR systems also helps students feel both interesting and easy to understand, deeply remember and frequently practice. The VR/AR based education contributed in solving the shortage of modern analytical equipments, giving the chance for practicing and improving analysis skills of students, avoiding the risks of conducting complex experiments, saving time and money as well. As a result, the quality of undergraduate education is improved due to the students can adapt to the rapid development of analytical equipments in practice while the universities could not equip infrastructure. It can be seen that the application of VR in laboratory teaching has brought a completely new, intuitive and lively training method, helping to improve the educational environment, save costs and therefore improve the learning quality for students.
