Agitation is a nonspecific set of unrelated behaviors, which c-haracterized by excessive verbal or movement activity, irritability, noncooperation, vocal outbursts, threatening gestures, and aggression. Agitation is present in many physical and mental illnesses such as schizophrenia, bipolar affective disorder, and dementia. Research on risk factors can make usefully for the management, prevention, and early treatment of agitation in patients with schizophrenia. Objectives: Evaluation of some factors related to agitation in schizophrenia patients. Method: Cross-sectional study on 83 agitation patients with schizophrenia inpatient treatment at Hanoi Mental Hospital. Results: There is non association was found between agitation and gender, education level and occupational status. There is a relationship between severe agitation and young age group; live in the countryside; with a history of aggression; abandoned treatment, compulsive hospitalization, and positive symptoms of schizophrenia.
