“Towards sustainability in pangasius seed production: a selective approach” is a project jointly conducted by the Academy of Graduate Education and Research (ARES) and the Committee for Cooperation on Development (CCD). sponsored by the Kingdom of Belgium, assigned to Can Tho University, the University of Liège and the University of Namur (Belgium). The main objective of the project is to develop a line of salt-tolerant pangasius to adapt to the increased saltwater intrusion in the Mekong Delta (MRD) through genetic selection. After 5 years of implementation (2017-2022), the project is ready to provide people with salt-tolerant and fast-growing pangasius breeds, contributing to the sustainable development of the pangasius industry in the region.
