Social criticism is the attitude and behavior of giving opinion, assessing, criticizing and debating of the public toward the process of policy making and implementation. Contemporary press and communication is not only acknowledged as specific political tools or social communication measures, it is also considered a social institution, a connecting and intervening measure. Reality of Vietnam poses issues to raise capability and effectiveness of the press's social criticism as follow: clearly recognize the press and communication as public and transparent and democratic forum, focus on rights to be informed; building the revolutionary and professional press in which each press agency is a connecting centre of social resources in supervising policy implementation and criticism.
