CuO/ITO electrode was fabricated by electrodepostion of copper sulfat solution(CuSO4) using three electrode system to form copper thin film onto ITO substratefollowed by oxidation to convert copper to copper oxide at 400oC. Cu was depositedonto ITO electrode using CuSO4 0.1M under current density of -6mA/cm2. The surfacestructures and morphology of CuO thin film onto ITO was characterized by X-raydiffraction (XRD), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and scanningelectrode microscopy (SEM). The cyclic voltage method was used to investigate theelectrochemical properties of CuO/ITO electrode to glucose in alkaline medium ofNaOH solution and to determine the glucose concentration. The dependence ofglucose response to CuO/ITO electrode in the 1M, 0.1M and 0.01M of NaOH solutionshowed that the optimum of NaOH concentration is 0.01M. The optimum depositiontime of Cu onto ITO is 90 minutes. The cylic voltage method to determine theconcentration of glucose showed that the linear range detection of 0-3mM with highsensitivity of 470.6 (μAcm-2M-1) and detection limit of 0.02 mM with signal to noiseS/N=3/1.Keywords CuO, ITO, glucose, electrochemical, electrodepostion
