This article discussed the concept of super self-awareness - a concept widely studied abroad yet attracted little attention in Vietnam. Research results on 229 Vietnamese and Polish youths showed that super selfawareness reflected the sociocultural characteristics of youths' living environment. People living in a collectivistic culture or feminist culture, i.e. those having a dependent identity, usually had higher self-supervision or selfcontrol; while people living in an individualistic culture or masculine culture had more independent identity.
