The family with maximum number of species is Orchidaceae (381 species, 9.49 percent of total flowering plants). Families comprise more than 96 species and less than 381 species including Fabaceae, Asteraceae, Rubiaceae, Euphorbiaceae, Poaceae, Cyperaceae, Fagaceae and Annonaceae. Family Lauraceae comprises 96 species (2.39 percent). Each of other families comprises less thah 96 species. Genus Dendrobium comprises 60 species (1.5 percent of total flowering plants). Families comprise more than 25 species and less than 60 species including Uthocarpus, Ficus, Ardisia. Bulbophyllum. Eria, Carex. Symplocos and Crota/aria. Genera comprise 25 species (0.62 percent of total flowering plants): Lasianthus. Croton and Litsea. Each of other genera comprises less than 25 species. Among all plants, there are 2088 species (2 classes, 175 families, 936 genera) are useful flowering plants. There are 331 timber species (58 families, 152 genera), 1181 medicinal species (160 families, 680 genera), 317 ornamental species (57 families, 172 genera), 174 edible species (53 families, 116 genera), 198 vegetable species (66 families, 139 genera), 55 dye species (18 families, 30 genera), 22 fibre species (11 families, 18 genera), 22 essential oil species (10 families, 15 genera), 89 species (18 families, 65 genera) provide food for animal. 163 species are recorded in Vietnam Red Data Book (part 2. Plants. 2007), there are 7 species in critically endangered situation (CR), 74 species in endangered situation (EN), 81 species in vulnerable situation (VU). 1 species in lower risk/conservation dependent situation (LR/cd). Based on the above data, the authors can confirm Ihe high diversity .of plants of Tay Nguyen.
