Climate change has a strong impact on the deltas and coastal areas of our country, especially the Mekong Delta. One of the most affected areas is Ben Luc district in Long An province. The research methods to assess saline intrusion include document review, survey, and data processing. Saltwater intrusion occurs in the area from January to June in the hot and dry season. Particularly, in April 2020, the salinity was up to 15.7 g/L at Ben Luc bridge, located on National Highway 1A. In 2020, crops were destroyed with an area of 1,046.550 hectares, especially rice plants were damaged by 1,330 ha. Livestock and aquaculture activities were not affected by saline intrusion because people actively took preventive measures. According to the interview results of 400 households, people's awareness of saltwater intrusion is mainly through the radio station and the internet, accounting for about 41% and 26%, respectively. The most chosen solution to adapt to saline intrusion is the construction of dams and sluices, accounting for 56% to prevent salinity in the dry season.
